Discussion Topic: Family Systems

In chapter 7, we look at the family as a system. We work together and influence each other both the immediate family and then the extended family, friends and community involvements. Take a look at the different parenting styles on pages 231-232. What parenting style did you experience growing up? If you are a parent, what style do you lean on? Discuss the family systems view and how parenting can affect childhood and how that progresses to affect adulthood. Use personal or observed examples. You may use your textbook or other reputable and scholarly sources to research for this post.

To post, click on the title “Week 2 Discussion Forum” or click on the Discussion menu link. Once there, click Create Thread. Remember to cite a source in your primary post in APA format, post the word count and submit by Sunday evening.
